You basically just need
-Nail polish at least 4 (one dark, one pastel one strong/bright, and white) I used 6
- A dotting tool, you can use a tooth pick if all else fails but it's better w/the tool
-Nail Polish remover.
-Base and Top Coat
-Tweezers
- Make up sponge
-TIME!! this is pretty easy and mistake proof, but doing the left hand took me sooo long.
The tools You wont need very much sponge at all. Just make sure you rip it instead of cut it. You want it to be really porous and bumpy not flat and smooth
So I didn't take a picture of step one. XD basically just put some base on and polish your nails as normal. - I used OPI clear base, and Urband Outfitters Blue-Tie you can use black too
STEP #2
rip a piece of sponge the size of the eraser on those #2 pencils and on each nail dab in your nebula. I did them different on every nail but you can use the same pattern it look good either way. Try not to get too much polish on you want to be able to see the navy(or black) underneath
Step #3
Use your secondary color I recommend a pastel hue it stands out really nice and is subtle enough not to over power your nebula core. I used Hottopic's Mint Fresh once again dab w/your sponge. use the same one you used for white it will help the colors blend nicely :) try to focus it in the middle of the white so you dont completely cover it
Step #4
Now put in your core w/a nice bright color. I used Orley's Ruby. and lightened it w/ OPI Iris i was Thinner. Use a new bit of sponge this time, and dab on lighter color followed by bright then light color again to soften etc, blend as you wish. Try to focus the brightest to the center. Don't blend too much. I'll tell you why later.
Step#5
The fun part! grab your tool, or tooth pick; and spot all over. make sure they are random and concentrate on some areas and leave some areas pitch black. Like the real sky. I like to put in some big dots for planets, moons XD So if you are using the q-tip it's going nto take a while you can literally do like 3 stars per dip but don't give up it's totally worth it. :)
Step#6
Yay!! All done. remember why I said don't over blend the bright? I found even after everything was dry the red took longest to dry. It might be the polish but I think it's mostly because it's sitting on so much other product. When you put your top coat on it's going to smear the red a bit, if you over blended it's going to totally wash it out. :(
I used A glittery polish before my top coat to add more stars.
Over all I had a ton of fun and I cant wait to try this w/neon colors.
